IS/IT Strategy

An IS/ IT strategy is a planning document that explains how information systems and technology should be utilized as part of an organization's overall business strategy and should be designed to support the organization's overall business plan.

For organisations with a full-time CIO this is something that can be easily created and maintained. However, in SMEs and NfP organisations this can be overlooked, putting the organisation in a dangerous situation unless it can outsource everything to a single vendor.

Multi-vendor solutions are desirable in any case and can be inevitable when e-enablement needs to be pervasive.

As part of our "Virtual CIO" service we work with clients to create and develop their strategies. Generally, this starts with a full discussion of the organisation's business plan and a review of existing IS/IT provision.
